Strengthening mental health service with Dili Municipality Health Service
On March 24, 2025, PRADET handed over a set of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to the Dili Municipality Health Service, represented by the Mental Health Case Manager. The event was officially launched by key health leaders including the Director of Dili Municipality Health Service, the Chief of the Mental Health Section, and the Director of PRADET. The objective was to support mental health promoters to effectively disseminating mental health information and raising awareness of available services to the community.
During the ceremony, the Director of Dili Municipality Health Service expressed deep appreciation to both PHD and PRADET for developing and producing these vital materials. He emphasized that many healthcare professionals at Community Health Centers (CHCs) and health posts are still in need of adequate training and resources to effectively support individuals living with mental health conditions.
In response, the Director of PRADET reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to bridging the gap in mental health education and support, highlighting that this handover—made possible through the support of PHD—is just one step in an ongoing partnership to promote mental well-being across communities.
A total of 12 participants attended the event, which featured the signing of a delivery document between the Team Leader of PAMM-PRADET and the Mental Health Case Manager of Dili Municipality. The document was formally acknowledged by both the Director of Dili Municipality Health Service and PRADET.
The IEC materials—comprising brochures and posters on key mental health topics such as depression, stress, suicide prevention, and general mental well-being—will be distributed to health centers and health posts throughout the Dili Municipality, serving as a valuable resource for healthcare professionals and the public alike.
