DILI, TIMOR-LESTE – Staff members from PRADET recently participated in a specialized training session on disability inclusion, delivered by the Association of Persons with Disabilities in Timor-Leste (ADTL). This initiative strengthens PRADET’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian and social work in Timor-Leste, particularly in delivering inclusive services for individuals living with mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities.
Building on prior learning, the training session held on February 5, 2026, focused on critical topics, including:
• Understanding different types of disabilities and their unique characteristics
• Promoting social inclusion within community services
• Identifying and overcoming individual and organizational challenges when supporting persons with disabilities
While PRADET maintains a dedicated internal policy on disability, this continuous capacity building is vital to deepening staff awareness and fostering attitudes rooted in dignity, respect, and equality. Ultimately, the training empowers staff to better serve vulnerable groups and actively promote disability-inclusive awareness throughout the wider Timorese community.
