PRADET received students from Dili University (UNDIL) for practical study in the field of Mental Health

Dili University (UNDIL) has signed a technical agreement with PRADET to provide an opportunity for 248 students from the UNDIL Nursing Department to conduct practical studies in the area of mental health over a period of two months.

Through the Mental Health Assistance Program (PAMM), PRADET provides orientation to the students focusing on approaches and methods of providing assistance to clients through types of works: Rehabilitation activity, Street Outreach activity, and prevention of Stigma and Discrimination against people with mental problems. The students participate in rotation to learn how to provide therapeutic rehabilitation assistance to clients who have already received medical treatment, conduct community visits to learn how to assist clients who experience stigma and discrimination from their families and communities, and visit abandoned clients on the streets to provide basic needs assistance such as food, hygiene-care support and other support.

During this opportunity, the students engage in direct interaction with clients to provide hygiene-care assistance and are accompanied by the PAMM technical team. In the last day, the PAMM team holds a reflection session with the students to share what they have learned together and to express appreciation from PRADET.
